The Pato family has been producing wine at Quinta do Ribeirinho since, at least, the eighteen century. João Pato started to bottle the wine from his vineyards in 1970, becoming the first winegrower in Bairrada region after its demarcation, which was inherited by his son, Luis Pato. Baga is a grape variety unique to the Atlantic coast of Portugal. Luis Pato, arguably the master of Baga, uses this high tannin, high acid red variety in all manner of wine production, including this surprisingly charming pink bubbly wine. Sour cherries are cushioned by a fine mousse which crescendos to a dry, precise finish. Step outside of the sparkling wine norm with this unique and fun diversion.
