Grape Varieties: Alvarinho & Loureiro Vinho Verde
Tasting Notes: Yellow colour, citrus flavour with elegant and mineral profile. The Alvarinho, full of tropical fruit and structure, contrasts with the Loureiro, floral and full of elegance, which gives this white wine with 11%vol. an unique balance. ALLO is a vibrant and precise white wine with a peculiar balance due to the moderately low alcohol content. Alvarinho grape gives structure and Loureiro grape the elegant and mineral aromatic distinction.
Best Served at 10 to 12 degrees

Quinta de Soalheiro, located in Melgaço (the most northern point of Portugal), is protected by a range of mountains that create conditions of rainfall, temperature and sunshine hours necessary for the best ripening of the Alvarinho grapes. This very special microclimate led João Antonio Cerdeira to plant the first Alvarinho vine in 1974 and to create, in 1982, the first Alvarinho brand in Melgaço – “Soalheiro”. The Alvarinho grapes used in the Soalheiro came from several small vineyards planted in granite soil between 100 and 200 meters and located in a very particular microclimate in Melgaço.
Melgaço region, the northern point of Portugal, is protected by a range of mountains that create the perfect conditions of rainfall, temperature and number of hours of sunshine needed to the better ripeness of the Alvarinho grapes. The brand name – Soalheiro – arises from the excellent sun exposure of the vineyards bearing the same name – a sunny place. A large area of the vines used in the Classic Soalheiro comes from Quinta de Soalheiro were the grapes are organically produced and were the biodiversity of the animals and plants is promoted. It is exclusively from this vines that comes the grapes to produce the Soalheiro Primeiras Vinhas “first vines” and the Soalheiro Reserva.
